Marqués de Reinosa
A history of fields and people
The history of this winery is rooted in the tradition of a land where, at the end of the 19th century, Joaquín Garralda y Oñate, Marquis of Reinosa and Count of Autol, began to produce his wines. Over time, a group of enthusiastic entrepreneurs founded the San Isidro de Autol cooperative winery, thanks to whom what was a project 50 years ago has become a successful reality, with great expectations for the future. And so this vision of the future led to the creation of a new winery, which wanted to bear the name of the man who pioneered the introduction of winemaking in La Rioja Baja: the Marqués de Reinosa.
Wines with temperament
At Marqués de Reinosa, passion for wine is reflected in every detail, from the careful manual harvest to the ageing in oak barrels that gives our wines their distinctive character. Each bottle is the result of generations of knowledge and dedication, and respect for the land translates into the purity and authenticity of our products. Our wines are the expression of the elegance and authenticity that characterise La Rioja, and every sip is a celebration of the craftsmanship and passion we dedicate to each vintage. At Bodegas Marqués de Reinosa, we invite you to taste the history and flavour of La Rioja, captured in every bottle, and to join our family of wine lovers who appreciate excellence and tradition in every glass.
Character of this land
The soils of these lands are located in the basins of the rivers Ebro and Cidacos, and are mainly made up of tertiary material. Conglomerates, sandstones, loamy clays and sands stand out, with some carbonate and gypsiferous levels.
These are light-loamy soils, with low organic matter content and little fertility, very appropriate for the production of quality grapes. The vineyards are located between 500 and 750 m above sea level, with a typical continental Mediterranean climate, cold winters and hot, dry summers.
The average annual rainfall is between 400 and 600 mm per year. These climatic conditions, with Mediterranean influences, add to the intense personality of our wines.
Wisdom from expert hands
In 2000, Bodegas Marqués de Reinosa built its new winery on a surface area of 72,000 m2, of which 8,200 m2 are used for the winemaking facilities and 460 m2 for warehouses and offices.
