Marqués de Reinosa shines again for its good work. Decanter magazine has highlighted two of our wines in a report on Spanish wines made from Tempranillo red grapes. Specifically, Marqués de Reinosa Crianza 2021 has obtained the highest score out of 110 wines tasted blind by a panel of three experts with a total of 94 points. In addition, Marqués de Reinosa tinto joven 2023 also scored very well with 91 points. A blind tasting that has shown the quality and versatility of our wines against a wide offer within the national territory.
The article focuses precisely on the fact that the outstanding wines do not have big names, but their strength and brilliance comes to the fore when their undeniable quality is combined with their good price and drinkability.
There are also two important values shared by this selection of wines. Experts say that only in Spain, especially in Rioja, can a selection of such high quality wines be made from wines that are affordable for all budgets.

Furthermore, although they emphasise that these wines are easy to drink, they point out that they have a very good ageing capacity. This means that they can be consumed over a fairly long period of time. Thus, our crianza can be drunk with all guarantees until 2032 and the young red until 2030.
Marqués de Reinosa Crianza 2021
The three experts who tasted our Marqués de Reinosa Crianza 2021 say that it is ‘a captivating wine, with hints of ripe red cherries, figs and plums’. In addition, notes of leather, tobacco and vanilla are also appreciated. The verdict is completed by valuing it as ‘complex, vibrant, structured and concentrated’.
Based on this assessment, this wine scored 94 points. Of all the wines tasted, it is the only one to have achieved such a high score.
Marqués de Reinosa tinto 2023
On the other hand, Decanter experts have positively assessed our Marqués de Reinosa red 2023. They recognise that it has ‘good definition of blackberries, subtle aniseed, cherry syrup, figs and plums’. Their analysis also appreciates ‘an attractive and fruity style with evident oak but well balanced and with a touch of spice on a long finish’.
With this opinion, the report gives it a score of 91 points.
Pairing
The Decanter article also places the wines tasted in a gastronomic context so that readers, once they know the opinions and price of the wines, can design an appropriate menu to enjoy them to the full.
It sometimes happens that wines with a low retail price have equally low gastronomic options. However, these wines of the tempranillo variety favour simple and tasty meals typical of this time of the year.
Tempranillo is also surprisingly good with meat dishes that have a spicy touch, especially lamb. As for vegetables, any bean-based dish should work.
Moreover, this type of wine is ideal for a tapas bar, for tapas at home, or to accompany a good glass of wine with a bite of cheese late at night.
Finally, the older vintages are ideal to accompany a Sunday roast.
