The president of Fundación Caja Rioja, Pablo Arrieta, and the director of AgroBank of the Ebro Territorial Division of CaixaBank, David Navarro, and the regional minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural World and Environment, Noemí Manzanos, this afternoon presented the prizes to the winning wines of the 34th edition of the ‘Rioja Wine Competition’ and the 2nd edition of the ‘Village Wine Competition’ in the categories of red, white and rosé wines of the 2023 vintage.
This year there were 38 participants in the 34th La Rioja Wine Competition. The commitment to the quality of the wines and the efforts of the winegrowers have been demonstrated on this occasion by handling a complex harvest with interesting results. The general presentation of the bottles, new labels and brand names are proof of the visual commitment to the product and the desire to be differentiated, rewarded and commercially encouraged by the presence in the specialised media through participation in this competition.
Of the 89 samples submitted, red wine accounted for 34, 25 were rosé/claret and 30 were white wine. Winemakers from 22 towns in La Rioja took part.
